Barter Your Skills. Build Your Business.
A member-first network for women entrepreneurs, powered by trust—not transactions. We're building a new kind of business support system. One where women exchange what they know, not just what they owe.
What is Brown Ribbon Exchange?
Brown Ribbon Exchange (BRX) is a national network of women entrepreneurs—especially Black and Brown women—who grow their businesses through bartering, community, and collective value.
We're preparing to file as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit so that we can grow with intention and stay member-governed. No gatekeeping. No extractive platforms. Just shared skills, shared power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a nonprofit?
We're preparing to file as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit business league. That means we're structured to support our members—first and always.
Do I need to be a business owner to join?
You should have a skill or service you're ready to offer. Whether you're full-time, freelance, or just starting—BRX is here to help you grow.
Can I join even if I'm not in New Orleans?
Yes! Our national virtual chapter is open to women across the U.S. and you'll be able to barter services online.
What does it cost?
Dues will begin in Summer 2025. For now, it's free to join and get early access during our founding phase.
What makes BRX different from Fiverr or Upwork?
We're not a gig economy—we're a skill-sharing economy. You're not here to hustle, you're here to grow—with support, not competition.
